With the 2017 version of the PRS SE 277, the guitar builder from Maryland presents a somewhat'different' semi-hollow. The semi-resonance guitar with 27.7" scale combines the warm acoustic character of the semi-resonance construction with the tight response of the extended scale length of 27.7". Of course, the SE 277 Semi-Hollow presents the finest woods in the usual PRS style, from curly maple in the top to the glued maple neck.
The maple neck in wide fat profile is aimed at fans of well-built necks and provides a welcome basis for precise bends and leads. Despite an unusually long scale length especially for PRS instruments, the SE 277 Semi-Hollow offers good handling and invites you to experiment with various down-tunings;
The design of the SE series has also been revised with the 2017 models. Accordingly, Paul's complete signature now adorns the top plate of the SE 277 Semi-Hollow. Abalone Bird inlays serve as proven position markers on the 22-flush rosewood fretboard, while in-house tuners ensure smooth, long-term tuning.
The PRS SE 277 Semi-Hollow is equipped with two PRS SE Soapbar Pickups. The P90 cartridges provide a differentiated sound image between single coil and humbucker with the right amount of output for a flexible setup. The body of the SE 277 Semi-Hollow, whose curly maple top on a mahogany body colours the sound profile with contoured mids and improved clarity, finally provides a striking acoustic character;
