With the SE Custom 24 Floyd, PRS combines the most successful design of the Maryland guitar maker with the playing options of a Floyd Rose tremolo system. The SE 2017 series features the 85/15 S humbucker in neck and bridge position, wound to the original 1985 standard humbuckers, and a maple neck in wide thin profile designed for fast techniques.
Paul's SE Series high-performance model features a glued maple neck in the PRS-typical Wide Thin Profile with correspondingly slim shaping for fast leads and smooth layer play. The instrument covers a full two octaves per string with a 24-flush rosewood fretboard with traditional bird inlays from abalone and invites for writing riffs and shredding. Thanks to PRS 85/15 humbuckers, the sound of the screen also ranges from clear cleans in coil split mode to warm crunch sounds and brute high gain sounds.
The SE 2017 version of the Custom 24 Floyd features an original Floyd Rose 1000 Series tremolo system. The proven double locking system of the parts pioneer Floyd Rose is based on a solid base plate and string rider made of hardened steel for direct resonance transmission and a tremolo block made of nickel-plated brass. Thanks to the Locking Saddle, Dive Bombs, Squeals and vocal leads can be easily moved without having to switch on the tuner immediately afterwards.
