To activate the hardware unlock, the controller must be connected to the computer via USB and switched on while the software is running. The software uses a handshake protocol to check whether the controller is unlocked and automatically activates the Pro features without the need to enter a serial number.

The robust Magvel crossfader ensures smooth and precise operation even under heavy use. Featuring a contact-free magnetic system, it offers exceptional durability for millions of fades. Rekordbox performance features are unlocked as soon as the device is connected to a PC or Mac. With a Creative subscription, additional tools are available, such as Cloud Library Sync for seamless music library management across multiple devices. The Edit mode also allows effortless creation of customised track versions.
Pioneer DJ DJM-450I was in two minds whether or not to go for this mixer or the DJM 350 but I’m so glad I paid the extra as it has so much more to offer than the latter, most notably the built in sound card and also included in the box, both Pioneer DJ and Pioneer DVS software keys which are a few hundred quid on their own when bought separately. You’ll notice the rock solid build of the unit itself and quality feel of all the knobs and sliders straight away although it took me a few hours to work out how to use the sound effects and colour FX features properly it is well worth paying that extra couple of (hundred!) quid for. I have been playing vinyl professionally on DJM mixers for 25 years now and this model is top nice.
So robust and with many features and improvements from earlier models.
But I certainly miss booth out!
