To activate the hardware unlock, the controller must be connected to the computer via USB and switched on while the software is running. The software uses a handshake protocol to check whether the controller is unlocked and automatically activates the Pro features without the need to enter a serial number.

The 10.1 inch touchscreen displays detailed track information plus sync status as well as colored waveforms and metadata of both decks. Thanks to the wave zoom, it is possible to see the exact current playback position. Other features include a large rotary selector, needle search, track filter and short cut , just like on the CDJ-3000, plus an on-screen QWERTY keyboard to quickly find the songs you're looking for.
The Pioneer DJ XDJ-RX3 provides EQs and channel faders that use the same curves as the DJM-900NXS2 club mixer. In addition, you can add creativity to your sets with six Sound Color FX and fourteen Beat FX.
Eight large multicolor performance pads per deck with access to popular features such as hot cues, beat loop, slip loop and beat jump create the conditions for making your DJ performance even more creative. In addition, it is possible to store up to eight hot cues for each deck.
With Pioneer's music management software Rekordbox, you can prepare your tracks on a PC or Mac for your performances by analyzing the BPM and setting hot cues and loops . Thanks to the rear USB port and the link export mode, you can connect your laptop to the DJ system and play your tracks right away, without having to export them to a USB storage device first.
