Mojave by Qu-Bit Electronix is a special granular processor effect whose algorithm is based on the behaviour of a desert storm. Philosophically, Mojave is a granular sandstorm inspired by the vastness of the desert in the American Southwest. Technically, Mojave in its main feature is a complex Stereo granular effect with deep editing and unique combination possibilities. The module uses microscopic audio bits to create unique soundscapes. At the heart of the sound design palette is a unique set of musically related parameters that place each Grain in a compositional context. Create beat-synchronized, granular arpeggios or wrap your sound in harmonic swirls rich in overtones with the twist of a knob. All aspects of these microsounds are easily accessible via individual knobs, allowing you to customize each Grain and effortlessly create sonic dunes. Mojave isn't limited to modular signals, either: Become the wind yourself by using the built-in microphone to sift through and manipulate acoustic audio signals such as whistling, blowing, or speaking.

Full control

In order for the sound image resembling a sandstorm in the desert of the American Southwest to move in a musically meaningful context, the module is equipped with a clock input and can be manually integrated with the tap tempo button. A total of eleven parameters with CV inputs allow spontaneous access to the sound events. Three additional gate inputs for Freeze, Gen and Lock along with dedicated buttons further expand the spectrum of the effect module. The Dune output is configurable via the web app and generates CV or Gate signals created within the granular sandstorm.

Practical web editor

Thanks to the Narwhal web app, available for free from Qu-Bit, Mojave is quickly adaptable to new circumstances. This includes assigning functions to the knobs, configuring the Dune signal output, setting the control range for each parameter, variable structure or drift settings, and much more. The transfer to the module is done via included USB stick.
