With the L5D, Rides in the Storm presents a 5 pole Lowpass filter with a discrete circuit design. In terms of sound, the filter impresses with a powerful and precise sound that has a variable character thanks to the switchable slope and multiclipping. The slope of the module can be switched between 30 / 24 / 18 / 12 / 6 dB. Multiclipping turns out to be a real game changer, especially in combination with the input gain: with no to subtle resonance, the filter sounds clean to creamy, with increasing resonance it becomes quite wild to screaming. In addition, the compensation of the resonance is infinitely variable; this feature is familiar from some American synths, which lose level at high resonance. This is bypassed here. There are five control voltage inputs for modulating the filter: 1V/Oct, resonance, envelope, XFM (exponential FM) and LFM (linear FM).
