With the TR-1000, Roland presents a drum computer with digital and analog DNA and at the same time the top class of the in-house TR dynasty. The visual proximity to the TR-8S is immediately apparent, although the dimensions are similar to those of the TR-909. The absolute highlight is the hybrid sound generation, which combines the analog sounds of the cult machines TR-808 and TR-909, as well as the TR classics 606, 707, 727 and CR-78 with ACB synthesis, FM drums and lots of samples. Yes, you read that right! Roland has taken the opportunity to recreate the charismatic sounds of the over 40-year-old originals as a true analog circuit in the TR-1000, with additional improvements such as extended pitch and decay ranges and greater dynamic control. The sample section alone is so comprehensive that you can sample directly in the device itself and integrate

The TR-1000 has a hybrid sound generation, which means that digital and analog elements are present. Analog? YES, Roland is "finally" building analog again after more than 40 years! First a word about the structure of the 10 instrument tracks: the first four channels
The analog part of the sound generation belongs solely to the (non-sample-based) cult sounds from TR-808 & TR-909! For the TR-808 sounds
The digital part of the sound generation is impressive, Roland has packed in everything you could wish for. All the drum classics from Roland's
The extensive range is complemented by FM drums, which are already familiar from the TR-8S. They form an interesting contrast to the cult sounds and open up a sonic level that the cult treasures are simply not capable of.
But that's not all, the TR-1000 can also play samples. Over 2500 samples are pre-installed in the huge 64GB memory and you can get started straight away; there is a whole 46GB left for your own samples. Create an authentic West Coast drum kit or sample your own drum kit in the device. The sample tracks can also handle loops, whether you've just recorded them yourself or imported them from your own archive. Time stretching and/or 16-fold slicing included, of course.
All sounds are organized in the usual way in drum kits, for which there are 2048 memory locations distributed across 16 projects with 128 drum kits each.
The step sequencer is the heart of every drum computer, especially if it comes from the TR universe. The TR-1000 offers 10 tracks, which are divided into 4 layers and 6 single tracks. There is an additional track for the trigger output, which can be used to trigger the sequencer of an SH-101 or a syncussion voice, for example. Programming is done using the classic step or tap method, but the notes can also be played in via a master keyboard; accent and sub-steps can of course also be programmed in the pattern. A pattern also includes the Motion Recorder, which can be used to record all controller movements in the pattern. This can be used, for example, to record the

When it comes to effects, the TR-1000 draws on the full potential of digital and analog. The most important FX controls are located above the instrument tracks. In addition to various types of reverb and delay, the digital effects also offer 11 insert effects, a compressor and master FX with 8 types. The analog effects consist of a real stage variable filter in OTA design and a distortion (overdrive). Of course, all effects are in stereo and widely adjustable, so that all nuances in between can be hit.

With the free TR-1000 app, kits and instrument parameters can be conveniently edited and prepared thanks to the graphical user interface
