SPL Frontliner Overview:

The flagship of the SPL channel strips offers the finest ingredients for world-class recordings. The SPL Frontliner has everything you need to record voices and instruments in perfect quality: Preamp, de-esser, EQ and compressor. Thanks to dedicated analogue inputs and outputs for each function, the Frontliner pilot can integrate all these powerful high-end analogue processors individually into any Studio and use them for mixing or mastering. As a special feature, the Premium version is equipped with Lundahl transformers at the input and output. This measure results in a more transient-rich, extremely musical sound and further emphasizes the special high-end character of the Frontliner. Added to this are the advantages of galvanically isolated inputs and outputs in terms of interference immunity and common mode rejection.

Compared to the Channel One, the Frontliner Channel Strip shines with a fully equipped compressor and adjustable tube saturation in addition to its numerous connection options. Its preamplifier stages operate as a hybrid with a variable transistor stage and a fixed tube stage, so that the clarity and low noise of transistor technology is combined with the pleasant and intuitive sound characteristics of a tube stage. Compared to earlier circuits of this type, the technology in the SPL Frontliner has of course been significantly improved, as can be seen from the electrical values.
