SPL Mercury Black

SPL Electronics Mercury Black is a high-end stereo digital / analog converter for highest technical and sonic demands in mastering - and at the same time the first mastering DA-converter in 120V technology! The obligatory lowpass filters of every DA-converter are built as analogue filters in 120V technology - one filter for PCM and one for DSD. To be more precise, these filters are called DLP120, which stands for Dual Low Pass Filter in 120V technology. The result: a much wider dynamic range and a much higher headroom than was previously possible.
On the connection side, the SPL Electronics Mercury Black offers up to seven digital inputs. These include two AES/EBU, SPDIF and Toslink connections as well as a USB interface. AKM's highly acclaimed Velvet sound converter technology is used for conversion, allowing sample rates of up to 768 kHz, 32 bits and Direct Stream Digital up to DSD4.
In addition to a regular stereo output that can be calibrated to all common reference levels, the SPL Electronics Mercury Black provides an additional stereo output with analogue adjustable output level. Thus, it also serves as a state of the art monitor controller.
