Thanks to precise RIAA equalisation according to the Douglas-Self principle and the unique VOLTAiR technology, the device delivers audiophile sound quality at the highest level. Compatibility with MM and MC cartridges

Phonos Duo supports both moving magnet (MM) and moving coil (MC) cartridges. Six switchable capacities are available for MM systems (12 pF to 330 pF), while six impedance values (20 Ohm to 1 kOhm) can be set for MC systems. This means that the preamplifier can be optimally adapted to any pickup system. MC systems in particular benefit from the especially low-noise amplification with up to 70 dB gain.

Optimum control with practical functions

With the three switchable amplification stages (Low, Med, High), the output level can be flexibly adapted to the subsequent signal processing. Other practical functions, such as a switchable rumble filter, mono summing switch and mute switch extend the range of applications. A ground lift switch also helps to avoid ground loops and ensures interference-free signal transmission.

Balanced and unbalanced connections

The Phonos Duo offers both XLR and RCA sockets for inputs and outputs. Input selection is made conveniently via the front panel. Regardless of the input signal selected, the output signal is available at both outputs simultaneously. A high-quality gold-plated earth connection terminal also enables the turntable to be properly earthed.

VOLTAiR technology for maximum dynamics

The integrated 120V technology (VOLTAiR) ensures impressive dynamic range, low distortion and maximum signal purity thanks to its exceptionally high internal operating voltage of ±60 volts. The result is natural, transparent and stress-free music reproduction. Compared to conventional circuits, VOLTAiR offers significantly more headroom and depth of sound.

Precision down to the last detail

The RIAA equalisation is based on the Douglas Self concept and uses only audiophile Styroflex capacitors. The design reduces distortion and ensures precise impulse response. The components of the device are mainly manufactured in the classic through-hole assembly to ensure the best possible sound characteristics.
