The HHX Evolution series impresses above all with its professional workmanship, as well as a wide variety of sound possibilities. SABIAN developed these high-end cymbals developed in collaboration with Dave Weckl and they have now established themselves as one of the most popular series in the world. The dark and shimmering sound of the HHX cymbals blends well with a variety of modern music styles, ranging from rock, pop and fusion to metal.
The high sensitivity and deep sound is a special feature of this series. Even with a fine response, the clear and balanced sound comes to the fore. The cymbal of the HHX series are hand-hammered from both sides and made of a B20 bronze alloy (20% tin, 80% copper). In addition to the vintage look the HHX cymbals have a captivating exterior.
The SABIAN HHX Evolution O-Zone Crash 18", which is additionally included in the cymbal set, only develops its special note through the eight punched-out "sound holes", which sounds assertive, aggressive, but still warm. In addition, they ensure a faster decay, which gives the cymbal its expressive character with short accentuation. Due to the particularly wide super sized hammering, the metal is extremely compressed at points and the sound development is thus significantly influenced.
