For the construction of the California TM4 Roasted MN Creme Hardcore Aged Reserve Sandberg uses excellent woods that promise the resonant old school sound of a perfectly played-in instrument. In the Hardcore Aged Reserve Finish the alder body undergoes the Sandberg Thermo Treatment, while Roasted Maple is used for the six-bolt neck. The slim C-profile also ensures a high level of playing comfort, so that every groove comes out of the fingers with ease.
The electrical sound conversion of the Sandberg California TM4 is done by Delano pickups and an active 2-band tone control.

The electric sound conversion of the California TM4 is done by Delano pickups, which give the four-stringer a wide sound spectrum. The bridge mounted Delano MCFE humbucker convinces with an assertive power sound that makes every note noticeable in the pit of your stomach. In middle position the Delano JMVC single-coil delivers a warm and deep sound with a pleasant old school character. With the split switch you can also elicit authentic single-coil sounds from the humbucker. The active 2-band tone control also allows you to precisely adjust the timbre.

Sandberg California TM4 Roasted MN Creme Hardcore Aged Reserve
I needed a backup bass for my trusty Fender Jazz. After reading researching the instruments on-line and never having played one I took a chance and bought the Sandberg California TM4. I've played 100's of basses over the years and have never found an instrument that I would regard as superior to the Fender Jazz range - until now. The Sandberg ticks all the boxes: fast neck, warm sound, great electronics, perfect weight distribution (same weight as the Fender but feels lighter). I really cannot fault it except to say the stock strings do the instrument no justice. I am now the happy owner of two Sandberg Californian's and have sold my Fender Jazz as it just cannot compete with the Sandbergs.
