The Schecter Damien Platinum-9 Satin Black is the ideal 9-string electric guitar for all gothic rockers and metalheads. It is wrapped in matte black and features distinctive Platinum Bats on the fretboard. Schecter chose a mahogany body with an arched top and a glued, three-piece maple neck, which, thanks to the Ultra Access Heel and "Thin C" profile, ensures excellent playability up to the highest positions of the rosewood fretboard. The extended 30" scale length ensures a precise reproduction of all strings. Two EMG 909 humbuckers enable ripping high-gain sounds. Last but not least the Schecter Damien Platinum-9 LH Satin Black is equipped with a Schecter Custom hardtail bridge and Grover tuners for perfect intonation and maximum tuning stability.
Schecter Guitar Research uses the proven set-neck construction on the Schecter Damien Platinum-9 Satin Black, which offers optimum playability thanks to modern detail solutions, whereby the extended 30" (762 mm) scale length ensures a precise reproduction of all strings. Accordingly, the Ultra Access Heel guarantees unhindered access to the highest frets at the transition from the mahogany body to the three-piece maple neck, whereas the extremely slim "Thin C" profile fits comfortably in the hand and allows anything to be played with ease.
For the proper sound, the Schecter Damien Platinum-9 Satin Black is equipped with active EMG pickups, which are not for nothing considered the reference for particularly brute sounds in rock and metal circles. Equipped with Alnico V magnets, the EMG 909 humbuckers placed at the neck and bridge produce a powerful sound that presents even the lowest notes precisely and with high assertiveness. The pickups are managed via the familiar 3-way circuit and global volume and tone controls.
Last but not least, the Schecter Damien Platinum-9 Satin Black convinces with its high-quality and reliable hardware features. A Schecter Custom hardtail bridge is mounted on the body, behind which the strings are guided through the body in string thru style, and helps the strings im sounding defined. Behind the Graph Tech nut, Grover tuners on the headstock ensure precise and stable tuning.

Having played mainly 7 and 8 string guitars, I decided to upgrade to a 9 string.
This guitar is excellently built and the extended length neck really helps out with the lower strings!
Even after extensive use the guitar holds its tuning on all strings.
Can only recommend to anyone looking for a 9 string guitar!
