With the Jeff Loomis Blackouts, the Californian pickup guru presents Seymour Duncan a pair of Signature pickups developed in close collaboration with the metal virtuoso. Loomis, who secured himself a place in the Hall of Shred both with Nevermore and with his solo albums due to his rapid leadlines and his characteristic Vibrato sound, was looking for a transparent presentation and defined attack even with deep tunings and strong Distortion ones. By using Alnico V magnets and an adapted Preamp design, it was possible to combine these wishes with a tight bass reproduction that is indistinguishable from a passive pickup, so that every detail of the playing is preserved, while the sound is always rich and with a pronounced sustain.
