The GFM 01 Stereo Boundary Microphone Base is used in combination with the Soundman Original Head Microphones (OKM). For audio and video applications, the base has a threaded flange on the bottom with W 3/8" camera thread. This allows the complete unit to be mounted on any photo or microphone tripod. With the M4 threaded screw on the län edge of the microphone base, the complete unit can also be hung on a larger free wall surface using a small metal angle. In addition, it can also be placed on free surfaces or floors if required. This is a particular advantage for studio applications, as it increases the presence of the bass range in particular. The larger the surface of the floor, the lower the frequency response to be recorded.
To further refine and thus improve the presence in stereo recordings, a so-called "Jacklin disc" (separating disc) is included in the scope of delivery. This results in a good low bass reproduction as well as an improved stereo separation when the disc is aligned frontally to the sound source.
