The Spector Euro 4 LX Doug Wimbish Solid Black Gloss was developed together with the Living Colour bassist, who as a big fan of Stuart Spector 's creations contributed significantly to their worldwide success. This is based Spector on the typical neck-through construction with three-piece, graphite-reinforced maple neck and corpus wings made of alder with maple top. In addition, an active EMG PJ pickup setup together with the active Spector TonePump electronics ensures an adequate fusion sound between blues, rock and funk. The massive Spector locking bridge and Gotoh mechanics complete the Spector Euro 4 Doug Wimbish Signature electric bass.
The Spector Euro 4 LX Doug Wimbish is of course designed using the elaborate neck-through construction method. Accordingly, the four-string has a continuous, three-piece maple neck, which is reinforced by graphite inlays and carries a rosewood fingerboard. Glued to the neck, the body wings consist of alder with a maple top. The slim neck profile and the cuddly curvature of the body also ensure optimum playing characteristics.
Doug Wimbish chose an active PJ setup o EMG f Spector . Equipped with ceramic magnets, the EMG P Split Coil, installed in the middle position, delivers an extremely rich punch and brilliantly articulating highs, while the EMG SJ Single Coil, placed on the bridge, works with high clarity and assertiveness. In addition, the active Spector TonePump electronics promises additional tonal flexibility with which bass and treble can be boosted by up to 18 dB each.
Last but not least, an absolutely reliable hardware configuration completes the Spector Euro 4 LX Doug Wimbish. The extremely solidly built Spector Locking Bridge supports an even sound development and sustain due to the lockable string riders. Bass Gotoh mechanics on the headstock also guarantee precise and stable tuning.
