Sputnik Modular Quad Function & Trigger Source

Sputnik Modular Quad Function & Trigger Source offers four independent CV function generators or two paired CV function generators in quadrature mode for creating complex envelopes. Each Generator can be triggered by an external pulse or sustained gate (ASR response). In cycle mode the QFTS is suitable for AD/AR Looping or LFO similar forms. The module is designed for the Eurorack.

Attack/Decay section of the Sputnik QFTS

The center of the QFTS are the four independent function generators, which generate an attack-decay cycle with each received pulse. The phase duration can be set individually between 0.05 and 10 seconds. A distinction is made between three operating modes, which can be selected individually for each channel:

• Cycle mode: repetitive attack-decay cycle that LFO produces one. Frequency and waveform are adjusted using the Attack and Decay knobs.
• Attack decay envelope: Length of the gate is irrelevant.
• Attack-Hold-Release: Length of the gate is read out.

output section

The generators of the Sputnik Quad Function & Trigger Source have their own CV and end-of-cycle outputs Pulse . The two channel pairs (1+2, 3+4) each have a mixed output socket with an OR gate. This means that only the signal with a higher voltage is output. The one Output of channel 2 and 4, which is routed to this socket, is attenuated by the corresponding knob. In quadrature mode, a phase difference of 90° is set between the channels of a pair. This allows more complex envelopes to be generated as AD and attack hold release curves.
