The Steinberger Spirit XT-2 Standard Bass Lefthand Black comes in the same body design as its ancestors from the 1980s and accordingly offers the legendary smooth playability and the reduced to the essentials look. Here, the four-stringer has two humbuckers along with passive electronics for versatile sounds provide. Of course, the Steinberger Spirit XT-2 is also equipped with the Steinberger Double Ball Bridge and the Direct Pull tuning system.
Two Steinberger humbuckers are used as pickups on the Steinberger Spirit XT-2 Standard Bass Lefthand Black in the neck and bridge positions. In conjunction with the classic passive electronics, which consist of two volume and one tone pot, they provide versatile tones for almost any style of music on the amplifier. From massive low end emphasis to rocking midrange growl to dry sound for funky slaps, the bass leaves nothing to be desired.
Of course, the Steinberger Spirit XT-2 Standard Bass Lefthand Black also offers the innovative hardware equipment. The obligatory double ballend strings are hooked into the tailpiece at the front of the neck and from there are guided over a zero fret towards the body. Here the strings are held by the Steinberger Double Ball Bridge, whose Direct Pull tuners with a ratio of 40:1 guarantee precise tuning of all strings. In order for the bass to also be played while sitting, a leg rest can be folded out on the underside of the body.
Steinberger Spirit XT-2 Standard LH (Black)I wanted a cheap travel bass to take on trips. The sound This produces is huge, build quality is exellent
Of course we are a long way from the true Steinbergers made in the USA form the past, but the truth is that for the price you pay these are really great basses. They are light, have "the look" and if you're after headless bass guitar this is the way to go.
Nice lightweight guitar. Very playable, and easy on the eye. Packs away well. Dynamic sound, crisp, from top to bottom. Well worth the price. Only one thing. I had hoped for a short scale instrument, but no worries, I don't play very much at the nut end anyway. All in all, a very satisfactory purchase. Thank you. P.S. Nice action.
I must say I LOVE this bass!
It required a set up from a luthier, but the resultant sound and feel is pure class.
I feel privileged to play such a fine instrument for such moderate price.
Anyway the first demo I made with it - got a deal from Sonymusic - so no complaints!
Even with Brexit and the extra hoops international purchasers find themselves facing I have to say I'm impressed. The purchase process was easy and emails arrived in short order. It took a few days extra for the Bass to wing it's way for Germany to me in the UK but again it was no hardship. Excellent company to do business with. When my time comes for an amp upgrade I will be hitting their site.
