The construction of the Sterling SUB Ray 4 follows the classic StingRay, but the four-string body is made of lime. In combination with the sixfold bolted maple neck and rosewood fingerboard, this promises a crisp primary tone that, with its fat low end and brilliant trebles, forms the perfect basis for pushing rock grooves. These come out of the fingers particularly loosely on the narrow neck with a well-formed profile, so that the Fourstring invites you to play bass for hours on end.
The electric sound conversion of the Sterling SUB Ray 4 is done by a fat humbucker with open pole pieces, which is placed in the typical sweet spot of the string vibration. Accordingly, the 4-string bass on the amplifier delivers a rich sound with a powerful thrust from the bass cellar and a concise treble spectrum that is perfect for rocking riffs or assertive accompaniment grooves. In addition, the Sterling SUB Ray is equipped with an active 2-band tone control to adjust the sound image.
The Sterling by Music Man SUB Ray 4 RW Translucent Red Satin is completed by high-quality hardware. The classic bridge's massive construction supports the bass sound with its strong character and long sustain, while the adjustable string riders ensure perfect adjustment of intonation and string position. On the headstock, on the other hand, classic mechanisms in open Vintage style promise a long-lasting and precise tuning of the bass.
