Studio Electronics as co-developer of the Roland SE-02 provides the user with the SE-02 Ext Box, a useful extension for the compact analog synthesizer. Special attention should be paid to the extra large cutoff control with additional CV input. A variable highpass filter with drive was added to the mainout to extend the sound spectrum. In addition, the SE-02 Ext Box adds three new gate modes to the synthesizer: Open (for drone sounds), Transformer and External In. All inputs work with Eurorack compatible voltages.
After just a few circle of swapping cables one of phono jack stop working.
I'm disappointed by this issue. Unbelievable because this unit has been made by Studio Electronics..
A now is on the way to replace on new one. Let's see what happens next.
The unit itself is good investment. I can't imagine creating anything without but to be honest in the future manufacturer could calculate any kind of mount giving a chance to put on top of synth the extension (I'll do DIY). My point is: ergonomics.
I can't wait to receive a new Ext Box anyway.
