STYLOPHONE GEN X-2 - TUTORIAL SERIES: CONNECTIVITY
The Stylophone Gen X-2 at a glance
The Stylophone Gen X-2 is a compact analog synthesizer in desktop format with built-in delay and the iconic pen controller. Alongside its basic waveform, two switchable sub-octave layers provide a strong tonal foundation. The generated spectrum is shaped with a punchy low-pass filter. An attack/decay envelope and an LFO with square and triangle waveforms add movement and variation to the sound. Notes are played with the stylus across 24 metal plates, which cover two octaves of a keyboard layout. Audio is delivered through the built-in speaker as well as via aux and headphone outputs. The Stylophone Gen X-2 runs on four AA batteries (not included).
Many additional functions in the second generation
This second-generation mini synth introduces a range of new features. The deep blue housing immediately stands out, and above the keyboard a strip controller allows modulation of LFO speed, pitch, or filter. An octave switch provides quick access to three pitch ranges. A major highlight is the new control voltage connectivity: sequencer or master keyboard with CV/gate outputs via the pitch, gate and filter inputs. semi-modular synthesizer. The Gen X-2 can be played from any sequencer or master keyboard with CV/gate outputs via the pitch, Gate and filter inputs. Conversely, its pitch and gate outputs let you control a Eurorack modular system or a semi-modular synthesizer!
