Sturdy, straight cymbal stand for flexible drum set-ups

The Tama HC32W Roadpro is a chrome-plated cymbal stand with a tube diameter of 28.6 mm at the base, a Quick-Set tilt adjuster, a Quick-Set cymbal mount, a Gride-Tite joint and double-braced legs. Tama’s gearless ‘Quick-Set’ tilt adjuster maintains its position through the friction of six smooth metal discs instead of conventional gears, allowing you to set it to any desired angle. This mechanism also boasts a more durable design than a conventional gear-driven tilt adjuster. By simply gripping and pressing the two buttons on either side, users can attach and detach the ‘Cymbal Mate’ in a single movement, making setting up and taking down the cymbals a breeze. As with Tama’s standard ‘Cymbal Mate’, fine adjustments to the cymbal’s oscillation can be made by turning the unit.

The cymbal base protects the centre hole of the cymbal from the shaft and thread of the tilt mechanism. Should any part of the nylon sleeve become worn, the cymbal base can still be used by simply turning it over. By inserting nylon washers into the joints of the stand legs, Tama has improved durability and made the movement of the legs significantly smoother. The new ‘Glide-Tite Grip Joint’ provides a more secure attachment thanks to metal-on-metal contact. This ensures an extremely solid anchorage and complete isolation of a tom or cymbal. As the stand does not move with the instrument, the instrument’s natural resonance is maximised. The incorporation of a steel threaded nut into the tripod base significantly increases strength, and the risk of the thread stripping is far less likely than with the conventional method, where the thread is cut directly into the die-cast component.
