The Tama HPDS1 Dyna-Sync Single Pedal is a professional direct-drive pedal with dual linkage for ideal power distribution. The direct drive is implemented via a double connection, which leads to the best energy transmission. The pedal board angle can be infinitely adjusted. In addition, the upper part of the drive cam can be moved to achieve the perfect ratio of power to speed. The Sync-Coil spring under the footplate pushes the footboard back into position faster, so higher speed is achieved. The felt Dyna Beater produces a balanced sound. With the Para Clamp II, the Swivel Spring Tight spring suspension and the Hinge Guard Block, proven features of the Iron Cobra and Speed Cobra series are used. Hardcase and a tuning key are included.
Tama HPDS1 Dyna-Sync Single PedalLeaving top quality of craftsmanship and processing aside, what makes this pedal different from (almost) anything else on the market, is that (in addition to everything else) you can also control the lever amplification by moving a slide back and forth and this basically changes the pedal balance! This is HUGE as it allows you to customize completely the feel and the response of the pedal - you can make it "JJ Mayer perfect balance" ie, or super punchy as a chain drive or anything in between!
Especially great for players that do not "bury the beater" to the head - this is a little gem of a gear !
PS I had a Yamaha FP9 for a while before that one, and I like the Dyna-sync much better.
I found that the heavy old Iron Cobra I've been playing for years just feels better - slower, but more powerful. I think if you are used to direct drive for your style, these would eclipse everything else. Beautifully made and very easy to adjust. Just enough features, not too many you don't need.
