The hardened steel shell has a thickness of only 1 mm and produces a hot, dry and above all loud sound, which is ideally suited for rock music; but the LST158 S.L.P. Snare Big Black Steel 15"x8" can also be used for vintage applications, since the Mighty Hoop made of steel and the High-Tension Lugs by Tama also skillfully set very deep tunings in scene. With the oversized shell, even deeper and louder tones can be produced than with snare drums of conventional size.
