The TAMA SC Maple MA30CMS in Piano White is hard to beat in terms of quality and attention to detail. With its compact boiler sizes and extremely long service life, it is the perfect set for the tour or studio. Tamas Starclassic series can also look forward to some meaningful innovations in 2015. The Star Quick Lock Tom suspension from the High End Star series is now also used for the Starclassic ShellSets. This provides the already incomparable sound of the renowned Starclassic series with further melodious nuances and even more control during assembly and disassembly.
In Tamas Starclassic Maple boilers the individual layers of wood are even narrower than usual, which gives the body a better resonance capability without losing the necessary stability. Due to the special gluing, the kettles are even harder despite a minimum thickness of 5mm for the toms and 7mm for the bass drum. Only the finest maple from Canada, probably the most popular wood for processing boilers worldwide, is used in the manufacture. In order to give the whole thing a personal touch, all boilers are available in almost every conceivable size and configuration.
To do justice to these boilers, the Starclassic Maple only comes with the best Tama in boiler hardware and know-how to offer. The suspension is the proven Star-Cast Mounting System, which has lost even more weight through the use of aluminium and promises the best resonance behaviour, secure hold and flexible adjustment options. For a perfect tuning and sound behaviour of the boilers, Tama the Starclassic Maple boilers are equipped with high-quality cast iron tyres Zink and rubber-backed Tight Washers. These prevent not only the direct metal contact, but also the continuous loosening of the screws. The sound is rounded off with high-quality Evans skins. Other features include the rubber-backed bass drum claws, which prevent loosening and damage to the wood, and the one-piece cast bass drum legs, which guarantee comfortable adjustment and stability. Even the Floortom feet are thought through to the last detail; equipped with an air hole in the rubber feet, ground contact and thus resonance loss is reduced many times over.
In addition to three types of basic kits, there is an almost endless selection of finishes and boiler sizes available. Two options are also available for the boiler hardware: Black nickel or chrome. In this way, individual drums can be created that are completely Look convincing and sounding.
