The Tama PST137 Starphonic Snare Drum is a professional snare drum featuring 1mm steel shell, chrome hardware and a 13” batter head.
A symphony of sound springs to life from each STARPHONIC drum as a result of its own unique naturally resonant shell material, Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon Snappy Snare wires, and a specially designed Grooved Hoop.
Solid sound; full projection; rich, resonant tone; tight, crisp snare response…these were the objectives Tama strived for in creating Starphonic drums. In order to achieve this, Tama developed a concept that incorporates entirely new hoop, lug, and strainer designs, combined with a variety of uniquely constructed drum shells. STARPHONIC snare drums are the result of three years of detailed research and precise testing.

Tama Starphonic Snare PST137, 13"x7", Black Nickel SteelI’ve played my fair share of snare and I’ve never been so confident as I am with this one. This steel snare has a beautiful natural crisp ring which you won’t find in a wood or acrylic snare. In my opinion, now I’ve played this 13” I know for a fact I wouldn’t go back to a 14”, I have found that this is a more comfy fit for my kit and it is easier to tune. The snare throw off is real smooth and accessable. I’ve had nothing but please playing the Tama Starphonic steel snare and I hope you make the smart dicision to get yourself one too!
