With the 312e 12-Fret, the manoeuvrable body shape of the 12-Fret Grand Concert meets the sound wood combination of the 300 series in the form of solid Sitka spruce and Sapele in the back and sides. Both the shorter scale length of 631mm and the soft and centered sound of the mahogany Sapele make the 312e the finger picker's favourite.

Further features of the 2016 models include optical refinements such as Small Diamond acrylic fingerboard inserts, a black body binding and the in-house Taylor Expression System 2 electronics for accurate pickup of the acoustic sound image.
