The Taylor 322ce Next Generation: the complete package with the finest innovations.

Solid tonewoods and patented bracing

The solid mahogany top and solid sapele back and sides produce a wonderfully balanced sound with a warm mid-range spectrum, clear overtones and a pronounced bass range. This premium combination results in an overall sound that promises pure playing pleasure for singer-songwriters and all acoustic enthusiasts. Meanwhile, the fully solid construction and the very latest in-house Scalloped V-Class bracing provide the necessary assertiveness, resulting in improved vibration behaviour with extended sustain and improved intonation.

Finger-friendly playability

In addition to its great sound, the Taylor 322ce Next Generation offers a high level of playing comfort. The handy Grand Concert body and the mahogany neck with its pleasant weight sit comfortably in the hand, while the ebony fingerboard allows the fretting hand to glide effortlessly over all 20 frets. The shortened scale length of 632 mm also ensures easy fingering, as the string tension is significantly reduced here, while a generous cutaway also allows access to the very high registers. Another new feature is the Action Control Neck, which ensures a more resonant sound and simplified adjustment of the string action.

Taylor Claria Pickup

Meanwhile, the new Taylor Claria pickup system developed by Taylor is a real sensation. It combines professional piezo technology with a user-friendly preamp. This makes it even easier to adjust the clear and naturally amplified sound of the guitar. In addition, the control panel is installed in the form of soundhole controls so that the harmonious and pure design of the guitar is not disturbed.

Attractive design

The guitar is rounded off by a traditional design with tasteful visual highlights. The fine grain of the tonewoods is skilfully accentuated by a classic shaded edge burst finish in a high-gloss lacquer and also gives the instrument a warm colour gradient. The chic look is completed by the useful and elegant Firestripe pickguard, a single-ring rosette and filigree Weathervane inlays, which unmistakably express the attention to detail.

Taylor - The epitome of the finest quality

As one of the largest guitar manufacturers, Taylor is a true authority in the production of first-class instruments. Professional manufacturing by skilled craftsmen results in the finest products for life, whose value is always maintained - or even increases! This is due in equal part to the exquisite tonewoods, which do not warp due to long storage and selected quality and are therefore hard to beat in terms of high quality. Only spruce, mahogany, cedar or koa of proven quality are used for the tops. Careful production in combination with the best materials does not only apply to guitars. Guitar bags and all accessories are also of first-class quality. Finally, a conscientious final inspection does not allow even the smallest defects to pass and ensures absolutely flawless guitars before dispatch.

As if that were not enough, Taylor also attaches great importance to environmentally conscious behaviour.

Ebony & Koa: Sustainability at Taylor Guitars

Uncontrolled deforestation and overexploitation lead to massively endangered wood species that can no longer regenerate due to the high rate of extraction. These include ebony and koa in particular, whose dwindling stocks and the resulting ecological problems have prompted a rethink at Taylor Guitars.

Taylor Sustainability

Sustainable ebony cultivation in Cameroon

Because ebony is particularly finger-friendly due to its hard, supple texture, it has long been the preferred choice for fingerboard production. Its attractive appearance is also extremely popular for bridges, headstock overlays, bridge pins and bindings. However, the high demand and the flourishing black market outstripped stocks, so that ebony ended up on the Red List of endangered species in 1994. In addition, only the deep black heartwood, which makes up only a fraction of the tree, was used, resulting in a disproportionate amount of waste in production. To protect the forests, Taylor has been working with the Crelicam Wood Mill in Yaoundé, Cameroon, since 2011 to promote controlled consumption by processing waste products.

"We need to use the ebony that the forest gives us" - Bob Taylor

Siglo Tonewoods Project

The stocks of koa acacia have also suffered heavy losses over the last 20 years. Unsustainable forestry and overexploitation have led to a decline that can only be halted by proactive action and reforestation. That is why Taylor Guitars, together with Pacific Rim Tonewoods, founded the Siglo Tonewoods project, which aims to rebuild the Hawaiian jungle. This is a large cultivation area for koa acacia and other species, which enables the use of koa wood on a controlled scale.
