The Tech 21 dUg Ultra Bass 1000 Head was developed together with Doug Pinnick, the bassist of the legendary prog rockers King's X, and accordingly turns out to be the ideal supplier for massively distorted bass sounds with rich pressure. Responsible for this is the innovative concept with two interactively usable bottom and top channels, which in effect correspond to Doug's preferred dual-amp setup with a bass amp for crisp low-end thrust and a guitar amp for juicy Distortion in the mids and treble. Here, the bottom channel offers an adjustable low-pass filter and compressor, while the 2-band EQ with semi-parametric mids allows for precise tuning of the sound. The top channel, on the other hand, which can only be used in conjunction with the bottom channel at Mix, features a high-pass filter that determines the distorted frequency ranges, a drive control for adjusting the gain intensity, and a 2-band EQ for mids and highs. Also available via the Tech 21 dUg Ultra Bass 1000's gain switch is a boost with 10 dB of signal boost, which elicits increased distortion from the top channel while the bottom channel goes into compression earlier. With up to 1000 watts of power amp output, the Tech 21 Doug Pinnick dUg Ultra Bass 1000 head furthermore delivers massive volume reserves for rehearsal room and stage.
