The Thomastik JF324 4-String Bass Guitar Strings are constructed from a highly pliable steel core which is wrapped with a silk inlay. The outer winding is a true ribbon flatwound constructed of a special nickel alloy. The result is an incredible depth of tone and an enhanced fundamental which is unavailable from any other flatwound bass string.

After some research I discovered that although the manufacturers label them as “Short scale” they are designed for a scale of 32 inches which most makers and users would describe as Medium.
The strings look and feel great and I’m disappointed that I won’t be able to use them as other reviews have praised the sound and feel.
I would have preferred not to rate the sound as I haven’t heard the strings but had to enter a score to complete the review.
It would be useful if the information described the actual scale length the strings are designed for.
