Thorens - TD 1600, black high gloss at a glance
The TD 1600 combines the renowned tradition of Thorens turntables with the latest technology of the 21st century. On the outside, it is strongly reminiscent of the older 160 series with its characteristic wooden frame, the two-piece platter and the thick rubber cover as well as an arm board and an acrylic cover. Nevertheless, it has numerous innovations on the inside. Instead of being fixed to the top board, the three springs of the sub-chassis rest on the floor. A taut steel wire, which extends from the motor axle to the plate axle, prevents lateral wobbling. The sophisticated motor control system ensures a constant speed with precise synchronisation.
Ortofon 2M Black at a glance:
The Ortofon 2M Blackcartridge system is the flagship of the 2M series and has been fitted with a Shibata diamond whose slim cut ensures a large contact surface to the record groove. This results in a particularly detailed reproduction that represents the entire sound spectrum of a record and thus meets the highest demands. With an output voltage of 5 mV, it offers optimum sound reproduction and sound accuracy. The bodies of the 2M series are made of Hopelex, which provides high rigidity and prevents unwanted resonances during output. The 2M series pickups also feature Ortofon's Split Pole Pin technology, which enables moving magnet systems to achieve a frequency response that is just as flat as that of moving coil pickups.
