The Triad-Orbit Starbird SB-1 Overhead Tripod is the third generation of the legendary Model No. 180 by George Starbird. The redesigned studio microphone stand combines the movement range and stability of the original with Triad-Orbit technology to achieve a new level of flexibility and stability.

Features of the Triad-Orbit SB-1 Starbird:

  • T.A.F. System: T.A.F. (Triad Air Force) is a patent-pending pneumatic system that automatically and effortlessly lifts the tripod. When the middle coupling is released, the stand automatically lifts with air support.
  • StarBase: StarBase is a solid cast iron base with retractable legs that adjust for optimal positioning and stow under the base for efficient storage.
  • BoomStop: BoomStop is a locking mechanism with bolts. Regardless of the weight suspended from the Starbird boom, this ensures safe operation in any position.
  • VariBal: VariBal offers effortless, variable counterweight positioning and the ability to add additional ballast as needed.
  • Larger Triad TC Studio castors with two bearings and double lock
  • 2mm thick aluminium tubes
  • IO-Quick-Change compatible and includes OA ball joint for 360-degree microphone positioning
