With the Vemuram Karen, the Japanese effect manufacturer presents an overdrive pedal that delivers the authentic sound of a torn open tube amplifier of British design. The hand-wired circuitry, which is tested several times during construction under real conditions and subjected to meticulous fine-tuning, promises a particularly natural compression that supports expressive electric guitar playing with silky sustain. In addition to the volume, gain and tone controls, the Vemuram Karen also provides a trim potentiometer on the front of its solid brass housing, which can be used to adjust the overall gain intensity.
