With Skorpion, WMD presents an analog wavefolder that is unique in every respect. Never before has there been such an elaborate and complex circuit, and the results go far beyond anything previously heard from wavefolders. Skorpion is an 8-stage analog wavefolder that transforms simple waveforms into rich, evolving sounds using precise threshold and target voltage controls. With intuitive controls, 13 internal modulation sources, a macro envelope system, and stereo processing, the module delivers subtle to extreme harmonic manipulation. It features a unique vector core technology with feedback options and real-time animation functions. The module brings out the maximum in both sound and experience. Its many controls, some of which interact with each other, and 26 inputs and outputs for audio, CV, and gate allow for a wide spectrum of sounds, from subtle to fully chaotic, combining harmonics, character, and unpredictability. There are 13 internal modulation sources in total: a primary macro envelope, eight threshold LFOs, and four CV modulators normalized to the FOLD, SLOPE, SHIFT, and SHAPE attenuators. The CV modulators can function as LFOs or envelopes. The macro envelope is an attack/hold/release type envelope that modulates the amplitude of all LFOs. Even describing each function in detail would go beyond the scope of this video, but the following clips should give an idea of the possibilities Skorpion offers.
