Preamp with character
With the WA12MKII,Warm Audio provides an externalmicrophonepreamp that gives every incoming signal that certain something. While other pre-amps often "only" increase the level, the WA12 MK2 puts its own stamp on the sound, which is noticeable through a lively, deep and professionalsound. The discretemicrophone preamp is suitable for pretty much any application and offers highgain(+71 dB), a very highheadroom, lownoise floor and impressive acoustic performance. Whether microphone or(Hi-Z)instruments - the WA12 MK-2 "swallows" everything and gets the best out of the respective signals with the X731op-amp.
New features inside and out
In addition to a new finish, the black version has also been given an optimized interior: While the classic, orange version is powered by an external plug-in power supply, Warm Audio has installed a more sophisticated internal power supply with a low-noise toroidal transformer and significantly more stable voltage regulation in its black colleague.
Practical and flexible
The front panel offers additional features such as 48V phantom power, a 20dB pad switch and a polarity and tone button. All useful and nowadays indispensable features that can be conveniently switched on and off. LEDs indicate the status or the level on the right-hand side of the preamp. Instruments are connected at the front via a jack socket, while microphones are connected at the rear. There is also a balanced XLR and jack out at the rear as well as a socket for the power cable. The overall picture is rounded off by robust workmanship.
