Playing comfort at the highest level - the Yamaha CSP-275 B in detail
With the CSP-275, Yamaha presents a modern digital piano with a classic look that focuses on innovation in terms of both function and sound. The instrument is equipped with a very comfortable 88-key GrandTouch-S keyboard, which is fully weighted and touch-sensitive, and the white keyboard keys are made of wood. The CSP-275 B is also aimed at beginners, as it has implemented a sophisticated learning method, the Stream Light function. There are blue and red LEDs above each key which, together with the more than 400 pre-installed songs, indicate which notes to play and, above all, when to play them. To make full use of the entire range of functions, all you need is your smartphone with the Smart Pianist app installed. However, for a better overview, especially when reading the sheet music, a tablet is recommended. The music holder not only holds your sheet music at eye level but also your smart device at the right viewing angle, and there is even a built-in USB-C interface that supplies the device with power and also enables communication with the Smart Pianist app.
The advantages of the Smart Pianist app
The practical Smart Pianist app offers all smartphone and tablet owners with iOS or Android operating systems an even wider range of functions and, above all, even greater ease of use.
The Audio to Score function automatically creates a piano accompaniment in note form from the songs on your smart device so that you can play along with the pieces directly.
With the automatic backing band, you have a dynamic backing band at your disposal at all times, which draws from a large pattern pool and has something suitable for different genres.
Some of the piano sounds contained in the CSP-275 originate from the world-class Yamaha CFX concert grand piano and the popular Bösendorfer Imperial concert grand piano. These were recorded in great detail using binaural sampling, so that sound-influencing situations such as the location of the instrument (e.g. club, concert hall, cathedral) or even how wide the lid is open can be edited at the touch of a finger. In combination with the excellent keyboard, this is amazingly close to a real, large concert grand piano.
Last but not least, the app allows detailed setting options that only the instrument maker at the factory or a piano tuner can influence on a purely mechanical piano.
Fantastic soundscapes
The digital sound generation impresses with the elaborately created sounds of the two concert grand pianos Yamaha CFX and Bösendorfer Imperial. Thanks to Virtual Resonance Modelling, these grand pianos sound amazingly authentic in the smallest nuances, which, together with the keyboard, makes playing them a pleasure. In addition to the two concert grand pianos, the CSP-275 provides access to well over 700 other sounds! The high polyphony of 256 voices is more than enough to ensure that no fading note is missed, even when playing at high speeds. 65 reverb types are available to customise the sounds to personal taste. A Master EQ, Intelligent Acoustic Control and the Stereophonic Optimiser add that little bit more sound if required. The built-in Vocoder makes your vocals polyphonic and can also follow the notes you play. A very impressive function for players who want to accompany their playing with vocals!
Playing aids and other special features
The CSP-275 B is of course equipped with dual, layer and split modes for the keyboard. This makes it possible to distribute two different sounds over the entire keyboard, regardless of whether you want to combine an organ sound for the bass part or a piano sound with strings. With 495 preset styles, the digital piano provides a comprehensive and above all versatile playing aid. The integrated recording function records both audio and sheet music.
Perfect sound via the built-in speakers
The built-in stereo speaker system with a total of four speakers has a respectable output of twice 50W + 50W and reproduces the sound powerfully and brilliantly. Two headphone outputs with good preamplifiers do the rest so that you can enjoy the CSP-275 undisturbed at any time of day.
