Yamaha introduces the DHR and CHR series – two new lines of active and passive sound reinforcement loudspeakers designed to bridge the gap between the entry-level DBR/CBR series and the high-end DZR/CZR range. Offering professional-quality sound at an affordable price, these speakers provide excellent performance without breaking your budget.
The DHR Series includes three models in different sizes, making it versatile enough for any application. Choose from a 10" model for fixed installations and smaller spraces, a 12" model ideal for use as a floor monitor or a 15" version for front-of-house (FOH) applications. All models feature custom transducers powered by DSP-equipped Class D amplifiers, delivering exceptional sound quality and clarity. With features tailored for specific uses, the DHR Series provides the flexibility you need for a wide range of sound environments.
The DHR15 is a bi-amped, 2-way active loudspeaker featuring a 15" woofer and a 1.4" high-frequency driver — ideal as a main PA speaker. With a low-end frequency response down to 44 Hz, it delivers powerful bass even without a subwoofer, all while maintaining Yamaha’s signature crystal-clear sound — even at concert-level volumes of up to 131 dB.
Combining a 1000-watt Class D amplifier with high-performance DSP, the DHR15 offers professional-grade sound and reliability. Its robust plywood cabinet — borrowed from Yamaha’s top-tier DZR series — ensures both premium acoustics and long-term durability. The built-in DSP includes two EQ presets for front-of-house or floor monitor use, while a switchable high-pass filter provides effective and intuitive bass management, whether in challenging acoustic environments or when paired with a subwoofer.
The DHR15 not only delivers the powerful performance of its Class D amplifier but also eliminates the need for additional gear at smaller events. Its integrated 2-channel mixer allows for the direct connection of two audio sources—making setup fast and simple.
Input 1 features an XLR/TRS combo jack, perfect for directly connecting microphones without an external preamp. Input 2 offers a flexible combo jack for balanced connections and is ideal for line-level sources. It also includes RCA inputs for connecting stereo sources like media players or laptops.
Both inputs can be mixed directly on the speaker, allowing you to handle everyday sound reinforcement tasks—such as small gigs, speeches, or background music—without any external mixer or processing equipment.
Yamaha, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of professional sound reinforcement equipment for over fifty years understands the demands of life on the road. That’s why the new DHR and CHR loudspeakers are engineered for maximum durability and road-readiness.
Each cabinet is built from solid plywood and coated with an ultra-resistant polyurea finish, offering superior protection against wear, impact, and harsh touring conditions. Combined with rugged metal grilles, these speakers are built to perform reliably, even under tough handling.
All models in the DHR/CHR series include high-quality speaker stand mounts, while the CHR15 and DHR15 also feature professional-grade flying points for flexible installation options in fixed or touring setups.
