The acoustic set as a hybrid workstation

The Yamaha EAD50 (Electronic Acoustic Drum) transforms an acoustic drum kit into a powerful hybrid system with studio quality. By combining an intelligent sensor unit with a modern sound module, the EAD50 enables professional stereo miking of the complete kit without the need for complex multiple microphones. The DSU50 sensor unit is mounted directly on the Bassdrum and combines two precisely matched condenser microphones with an integrated kick trigger. This captures the entire drum set with clean stereo imaging and a defined bass drum response. The robust metal housing ensures reliability in live and studio use.

The Yamaha EAD50 shows a hybrid drum system with sound module and stereo sensor, mounted on an acoustic drum kit in a studio setup.

Studio sound module with maximum control

The EAD50 module works with the powerful SWX100 sound engine, 512x polyphony and 2 GB ROM. Enhanced effects, an integrated mixer, LED faders and multiple real-time modifiers allow you to shape the sound on the fly. Reverb, effects, trigger parameters and individual assignments can be controlled intuitively, whether on stage, in the studio or when streaming. Additional pads or triggers can be integrated via five trigger inputs (dual and triple zone). This allows an acoustic Set to be expanded with electronic sounds if required, ideal for modern hybrid performances.

The Yamaha EAD50 also functions as a fully-fledged USB audio interface with 8 inputs and 10 outputs. Multitrack recording is possible directly in your DAW - including Cubase AI download.
