The "scalloped bracing" and the thin paint give the FG 830 a surprising volume.
A solid spruce top provides a powerful sound
Generations of amateur and professional guitarists have trusted the instruments of the legendary FG series in the past. Across the range of models the Dreadnoughts convince with a perfect sound and an indestructible quality. The question automatically arises: Can such a well introduced product be made even better? You can!
The FG 830 offers the extremely popular combination of solid Sitka spruce and rosewood. Two tonewoods that go hand in hand and fill the spectrum of bass, midrange and treble in a very balanced way. Pickings look clear and defined with a very assertive sound.
The picture is rounded off with a slim neck profile, which provides a soft and pleasant playing feeling. Last but not least, die-cast mechanisms for tuning stability and precise tuning are convincing.

Very good guitar for the money. Size of the body can be problem to shorter people. Rounded edge of guitar body where forearm is leaned would be nice addition. Original box from Yamaha factory was damaged, fortunately it was packed in additional box by Musicstore. So, was it oversight by manufacturer, transporter, custody or Music store I don't know.
