The Yamaha FSC-TA Vintage Tint at a glance
The Yamaha TransAcoustic series impresses with a versatile pickup system that delivers built-in effects and onboard amplification, offering players a wide range of applications. The Yamaha FSC-TA Vintage Tint produces a warm, balanced tone, ideal for delicate fingerpicking. A slim neck with a generous cutaway ensures access to the highest frets, while offering space for complex chord shapes. The compensated bridge saddle and precisely notched nut enhance intonation and tuning stability. Smooth die-cast tuners make string tuning effortless, and the elegant inlays and bindings complement the wafer-thin high-gloss finish in vintage tint for a refined look.
Construction and woods
A solid spruce top gives this compact acoustic guitar a clear, rounded sound with articulate mids and highs, making both chords and single notes shine. The laminated mahogany back and sides add warm bass depth, creating a rich tonal foundation. The flat Nato neck features a rosewood fingerboard with 20 frets, while the bridge is also crafted from premium rosewood for durability and resonance.
Hardware and design
A urea nut (43 mm) and saddle ensure precise intonation across the 634 mm scale length. Smooth chrome die-cast tuners provide stable, accurate tuning. Subtle dot inlays on the fingerboard offer orientation without distraction, contrasting nicely with the dark-grained rosewood. Cream-colored multi-ply body bindings and a double-ring soundhole rosette add a refined visual touch, while a transparent pickguard protects the top without obscuring its beauty.
Electronics
At the heart of the Yamaha FSC-TA lies the System70 TransAcoustic pickup system, offering built-in reverb and chorus effects and functioning like a miniature speaker inside the guitar. The guitar’s back acts as a speaker cone, projecting effects acoustically – no amp required. All effects are easily controlled via a side-mounted preamp, and the system activates at the press of a button. For stage use, the guitar can also be plugged into an external amplifier.
