The Yamaha MGX12V is based on the MGX12 platform and is designed for users who want to combine audio and video in a single, compact system. In addition to its digital mixing engine with four mono and four stereo channels, sound pad, and FX returns, the V model features HDMI IN/THRU connectivity and an integrated HDMI-to-USB audio/video interface. This allows cameras and other HDMI sources to be seamlessly integrated into streaming or recording setups, with simultaneous high-resolution audio and video capture and pass-through. This makes the MGX12V particularly appealing for musicians, content creators, podcast studios, and hybrid live events. It combines FOH and monitor mixing with content output in one device. An 18×18 USB audio interface with 32-bit/96 kHz resolution is available via the main connection, while microSD multitrack recording and Bluetooth playback add further flexibility. The integrated DSP package including REV-X reverb, dynamics processing, and creative effects ensures precise control and professional sound quality, both in the room and in the stream.
The GUI of the new Yamaha MGX can be customized so that you can route important functions directly to a separate control panel. This applies to the control buttons next to and below the display.
The 4.3" touchscreen plus five controls/encoders form the central control point of the Yamaha MGX. This allows you to work quickly and purposefully on the digital mixing console.
The MGX-V models (MGX12V/MGX16V) have HDMI IN/THRU and an HDMI-USB audio/video interface, with which audio and video from external sources (e.g. camera or console) can be recorded simultaneously and looped through via HDMI. According to the brochure, capture and pass-through are specified up to 4K/60 fps and 1080p/240 fps respectively.
The MGX-V models (MGX12V/MGX16V) output video (HDMI) and audio directly to a USB-connected computer via HDMI-USB audio/video interface, allowing the signal to be processed in typical streaming/recording workflows. Additional remote functions via Stream Deck have been announced.
