Yamaha SB-2X Silent Brass is a mute that offers the possibility to practice euphonium quietly while still enjoying the full sound of the instrument through connected headphones. The revolutionary X Silent Brass System offers the instrumentalist a genuine sound experience through Brass Resonance Modeling and an integrated headphone input. The sound is recorded via the microphone in the mute and converted to the sound it would sound without a mute. This newly developed digital audio technology makes the system a real listening experience.

In contrast to its predecessor, the damper is significantly lighter and more compact. The play resistance is more pleasant and conveys an even more natural playing feeling. The built-in two-stage reverb function also makes it possible to add some reverb to the sound on the headphones. The damper can be disassembled into two parts for easy transport.

The damper can be placed in the bell for transport.
