The Yamaha YRS-401 is a three-piece soprano recorder made of Ecodear™, a special plastic that replaces part of the conventional petroleum-based material with resins derived from plant starch, making it an environmentally conscious choice.
Advantages of Ecodear™
This unique material has a much higher density than typical plastics. As a result, the YRS-401 offers a more focused sound, improved blowing resistance, and easier response. These qualities bring the Ecodear™ models closer to the tonal characteristics of wooden recorders. Additionally, the YRS-401’s windway features a more pronounced camber, meeting the standards expected of professional recorders.
