Professional video sound - with and without camera.

The Zoom M3 MicTrak is a multifunctional mobile recorder and camera microphone with 2 microphone capsules in M/S arrangement. The recorder can either be used for direct recording to MicroSD card, pass the audio signal to the video camera in the classic way via the included 3.5mm jack cable or also be connected to a computer or mobile device with a USB-C cable. The flexible recording options make the M3 MicTrak ideal for users who would otherwise need multiple devices due to changing usage scenarios. It can also be used wirelessly on a boom or as a USB microphone.

Contemporary recording quality with the simplest operation

The M3 MicTrak records at the currently highest possible bit depth of 32bit floating point at a sampling rate of up to 96kHz. Due to the high bit depth, the optimal setting of the recording level becomes a secondary matter and the full dynamic range is maintained even at low levels, while the signal-to-noise ratio is kept high. Especially for mobile use, where often a constant monitoring of the level is not possible without additional personnel, the M3 MicTrak offers a great relief.

Stepless stereo width thanks to center side

Here, too, the M3 MicTrak offers a maximum of application possibilities and flexibility: The two microphone capsules can either be set directly on the unit to a fixed measurement of 0° (mono), 90° or 120° stereo width, or they can be recorded in mid-side raw format so that the stereo width, and thus the directivity of the recording, can be continuously adjusted in post-production. In this way, it is absolutely uncomplicated to react to the different requirements of the production, e.g. if a particularly strong directivity is required or if more ambient noise is needed for a more spatial recording.
