The DT990 Pro 250-Ohm (Black/Silver) is an Open-Back Dynamic Headphone of exceptional quality suitable for the most demanding Professional and Audiophile Applications. The reduced weight of the Diaphragm and Moving Coil result in a similar pulse characteristic as Electrostatic Headphones, and in combination with a carefully tailored Frequency Response, offers a Natural and Balanced Sound. Soft Ear-Pads and adjustable, sliding Earpieces together with a flexible Coiled Cable ensure listening comfort during extended periods of use.

HEADPHONE LAB is free software from beyerdynamic that was developed specifically for DT Studio headphones and makes mixing and mastering much more reliable. The plugin calibrates the frequency response of the respective DT model to a neutral, studio-compatible target and supplements the whole thing with a realistic speaker simulation so that working with headphones feels more like listening to good monitors. There are two calibration modes available: a standard calibration based on a reference model and, for selected DT headphones, a factory calibration that uses the individual measurement data of your specific headphones. This allows for more precise assessment of stereo imaging, phantom center, and depth gradation, even in rooms without perfect acoustics or when on the go.

The sound of these headphones is perfect — it's flat and accurate, with presented and detailed low frequencies. But for the usability I'd give them 4 instead of 5 — such type of spring-like cable always messing between you and your monitor out. Much better if you put your monitor device on the left side of the table. It fits nice on the head, but without maximum comfort, probably because of slightly rigid headband. But again, these headphones will give you unbeatable sound quality for that price if you want fair monitoring in your studio.
I so glad i bought these headphones.
The clarity in the sounds is a great improvement compared to my latter headphones.
Very comfortable to wear for a long period of time.
Very good for tracking and also mixing.
Connected to my focusrite saffire 56 i dont need an external preamp, it could be useful to get a sound improvement, but its really not necessary cause of the 250ohm it works well with the audio interface. Recommended for everyone who wants to hear whats going on in the mix.
Can't be beat at this price point and above. Not suitable on the go, recording vocals or Dj'ing but they're not intended for that. If you need an all rounder on a budget, not recommended. As an upgrade for studio only use, PERFECT!
Been using these for years, my last pair were a bit used so upgraded to these. For the price, they're great. So comfortable for long sessions
