With the DT 990 PRO X, beyerdynamic is launching an update of its legendary studio headphones. The new version combines the proven sound signature of the original with advanced technology and improved wearing comfort. The open, circumaural headphones have been specially developed for analytical listening and precise editing in the studio - a tool for sound engineers, producers and demanding music makers.
At the heart of the DT 990 PRO X is the innovative STELLAR.45 driver, which, with a frequency range of 5 - 40,000 Hz and an impedance of 48 ohms, enables exceptional detail fidelity. The combination of neodymium magnet and precision-wound copper coil guarantees low-distortion audio reproduction on any playback source, be it audio interface, laptop or mobile device. With a maximum sound pressure level of 111 dB SPL at 1 V, the DT 990 PRO X delivers an assertive volume even with mobile and low-power devices.
Another feature of the DT 990 PRO X is the single-sided, detachable cable with lockable mini XLR connection. There is a fixed 3.5 mm stereo jack plug at the end of the cable, which can be extended to 6.35 mm using the supplied screw adapter. This allows the headphones to be flexibly connected to all standard headphone outputs - ideal for quickly switching between different devices and workstations in everyday studio use.
Long-lasting wearing comfort is essential - especially during extended mixing sessions. The DT 990 PRO X impresses with soft velour ear pads and an ergonomic head pad with fontanel cut-out. The robust spring steel construction of the headband ensures lasting mechanical stability and a secure yet comfortable fit.
Like all professional headphones from beyerdynamic, the DT 990 PRO X are developed and manufactured in Germany. The high-quality housing, durable components and sustainable construction ensure a long service life. In addition, the ear and head pads can be easily replaced if necessary - ideal for frequent users in a professional environment.
