sE electronics sE5 Single Small Membrane Microphone

The sE Electronics sE5 is a small-diaphragm condenser microphone combining the high sound quality of the previous sE4 with a new design, sleek look and lower price.

The sE5 features a new handcrafted, gold-sputtered capsule, hand-tuned to offer a smoother, fuller-range frequency response than the sE4, meaning the sE5 is suitable for a wider array of applications. It’s especially well-suited to acoustic instruments, such as acoustic guitars and pianos. While the sE4 featured the ability to mix and match capsules, sE Electronics has returned to a simple but effective single capsule and cardioid polar pattern.

Additionally, the sE5 is equipped with a 100Hz bass cut and both -10dB and -20dB pads, which are especially useful when recording loud sources such as drums and guitar cabinets. The sE5 comes with a Custom sE5 Shock Mount, an essential accessory for reducing unwanted vibration or knocks.

The sE5 is also available as a stereo pair.
