The Ortega RRG50CE-SSB is part of the Americana Series, combining a vintage-inspired aesthetic with modern features. Its passive mini-humbucker featuring both piezo and magnetic pickups allows amplified performance with volume and tone control, while the Sunset Burst finish evokes a classic vintage look. This resonator guitar is ideal for Bluegrass, folk, and roots music.

Construction and sound

Built with a curly maple body and solid curly maple top, the RRG50CE-SSB delivers strong projection and pronounced sustain. Treble and midrange frequencies are particularly well-defined, while the distinctive aluminum cone resonator provides the signature overtone-rich twang and boosts overall volume for stage-ready performance. The single-cone design ensures the sound develops quickly and sustains beautifully.

Playability

Beyond its unique tonal character, the guitar offers comfortable handling. The curly maple neck with ebony fingerboard fits naturally in the hand, and a 43 mm nut width accommodates flatpicking and strumming.
