I got these as the pad reviews I could find rated them top for response. I don't know what the reviewers were used to using but they are so sluggish as to be completely unusable on a snare drum. I'm all for practicing on pillows - but that's not what these should be for. I bought two of these, for SD and FT - had to use both on FT to get rid of the low resonance, and went back to a hard pad for the snare.
