From the authentic "dirty lemon" look of a sunburst finish that has faded over time to the silky vintage patina of the nitrocellulose lacquer finish and authentic manufacturing methods such as the use of hide-glue and the long neck foot, the 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue is a detailed reissue of the legendary Holy Grail Les Pauls. On the guitar amplifier, Gibson Custombucker also conjure up authentic PAF sounds, whose vocal tone colours and lively dynamics provide the ideal basis for traditional blues and rock. Naturally, the Gibson Custom Shop completes the 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue VOS Dirty Lemon with historically accurate hardware.

The one-piece mahogany body and the mahogany neck of the 1959 Les Paul Std Reissue are glued with a long neck foot and hide-glue.
Traditional manufacturing methods
Traditional manufacturing methods and a wafer-thin nitrocellulose finish create the basis for the authentic sound and feel of the '59 Les Paul Standard Reissue. While the one-piece mahogany body carries a two-piece "bookmatched top" made of finely grained curly maple, the mahogany neck is glued with a long neck foot. The use of glass-hard hide-glue for all wood joints guarantees unhindered resonance of the entire guitar. The "'50s Rounded C" profile with a 12" fingerboard radius, which is not too strong, also promises comfortable playing characteristics, so that traditional blues and rock playing techniques can be realised with ease on the rosewood fingerboard.
Two custom buckers with Alnico III magnets and a hand-wired circuit with oil paper capacitors elicit vintage sounds with authentic PAF character from the amplifier.
Custom bucker for authentic PAF sounds
On the guitar amplifier, the 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue naturally offers the incredibly warm and vocally articulate sound of the coveted vintage originals. Thanks to the use of Alnico III magnets and non-waxed coils, the Gibson Custombuckers installed on the neck and bridge are detailed replicas of the legendary PAF humbuckers, which elicit traditional timbres from the amp with powerful basses, a broad mid-range spectrum and velvety highs. A hand-wired circuit with Switchcraft toggle for pickup selection and separate volume and tone pots from CTS for each pickup are also available for customising the sound. Historically correct oil paper capacitors also promise harmonic treble roll-offs.
Kluson machine heads with an embossing on the body (Single Line) and a ring on the wings (Single Ring) keep '59 LP Standard Reissue securely in tune.
